Postural Correction

"Rebuilding spinal alignment and muscular balance for long-term health."

Postural Correction is a systematic program designed to identify, release, and retrain muscles responsible for skeletal alignment. Through posture grid analysis, deep tissue release, and targeted muscle activation, we correct conditions like rounded shoulders and text neck.

Estimated Duration

45 - 60 mins

Clinical Context & Scope

Postural Correction addresses the long-term skeletal adaptations caused by modern sedentary lifestyles. Chronic desk work, screen viewing, and poor ergonomics stretch and weaken the muscles of the upper back and neck, while shortening and tightening chest and shoulder muscles. Our clinical program uses a combination of manual releases and corrective motor retraining. This helps patients develop a neutral spine, improving breathing capacity and reducing daily fatigue.

Who is this Recommended For?

  • Office professionals sitting 6+ hours a day
  • Individuals with chronic 'text neck' or neck strain
  • Patients experiencing recurring upper back aches
  • People with visible posture deviations (slouched shoulders)

Biomechanical Mechanism

How it Works

The biomechanics of posture correction are based on correcting muscle imbalances (stretching hypertonic/tight chest muscles and strengthening weak/inhibited upper back retractors). Posture grids and goniometers are used to assess sagittal and frontal plane alignment. Retraining focus is placed on the deep neck flexors, rhomboids, middle/lower trapezius, and pelvic stabilizers.

Anatomy & Technique Guide

Anatomical Focus

Cervicothoracic spine, scapular retractors, and pelvic stabilizers.

Therapeutic Milestones

1

Release of tight chest, shoulder, and suboccipital muscles

2

Strengthening of weak upper back retractors and deep core neck flexors

3

Ergonomic postural integration for sitting and standing alignment

Conditions Managed

  • Forward head posture (text neck)
  • Thoracic kyphosis (rounded upper back)
  • Anterior pelvic tilt (lower back compression)
  • Ergonomic shoulder strain and fatigue

Key Therapy Benefits

  • Restores healthy, natural curvatures of the spine
  • Stretches tight anterior chest and shoulder muscles
  • Strengthens critical postural stabilizer muscles
  • Reduces muscle fatigue and neck-related headaches

Our Treatment Process

1

Posture grid photography and spinal alignment check

2

Release of hypertonic anterior chest/neck muscles

3

Activation of deep stabilizers (rhomboids, neck flexors)

4

Ergonomic workspace adjustments and home routine setup
